The Toledo Federation of Art Societies in conjunction with the Toledo Museum of Art invites area artists to enter the 93rd annual Toledo Area Artists exhibition. The works selected will be on exhibit in the Toledo Museum of Art . |
Jurors |
The exhibition will be juried by Toledo Museum of Art Director Brian Kennedy and Associate Director Amy Gilman. |
Eligibility |
Original artwork in any media (excluding performance art) created from 2007–2011 and not previously shown in Toledo Area Artists exhibitions. Past and present residents of Allen, Defiance, Fulton, Hancock, Henry, Lucas, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam, Sandusky, Seneca, Van Wert, Williams, Wood, and Wyandot counties in Ohio, and Lenawee and Monroe counties in Michigan are eligible to enter. Works of art consisting in whole or in part of perishable materials, living organisms, liquids, materials covered by the Endangered Species Act, feathers of any kind, or deteriorating/insect infested or untreated wood will not be admitted into the exhibition. All materials are subject to approval by TMA staff. |
Entry |
A maximum of three original works, including any collaborations, may be entered for $30. Entry fees will only be collected online by credit card payment. Sets count as one entry. Each collaborative work counts as one work per artist. |
Online Entry |
Artwork must be submitted for jury review via online entry at www.callforentry.org.
Artist's submit digital images of their artwork following the exact guidelines prescribed by the web site. Artwork consisting of multiple panels, diptychs, or series meant to be viewed as one unit must be on one digital image. NO extra detail images will be accepted.
Digital images of accepted work will be permanently retained by the TFAS. All artwork must be available for exhibition, and artwork must correspond to digital image submitted. |

Payment of entry fee ($30) will be accepted online by credit card only (no cash or checks).
Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Procedures for Accepted Entries |
Works on paper, except pastels, must be framed under Plexi. Pastels may be framed under glass. Picture brackets, Swiss clips, etc., are not acceptable. Paintings must be framed. Hanging devices must be provided on unconventional wall-mounted pieces. Clay must be fired, and textiles should have devices for hanging and be delivered rolled on tubes.

Bring accepted entries to the service entrance of the Museum on Grove Place at the times and dates indicated on the exhibition calendar. Work that requires shipping must arrive by these dates and include the cost of return shipping. A 5” x 7”, . 300 dpi, photo of the work of art, suitable for publication, must be provided with all accepted entries. |
Awards |
All media are eligible for prizes.
TFAS shall select Purchase Awards from the artwork offered for sale for their permanent collection. The awards are equal in value to the full amount indicated in the “Price” box originally entered in the online entry process.

Sales of Artwork |
Artists may offer their work for sale. A 30% commission will be charged for each sale. No commission will be charged on Purchase Awards. Prices cannot be changed after acceptance of the artwork. Purchase of oversize works that need to be shipped may require special shipping arrangements by the artist. |
Return of Exhibited Work |
All work not sold from the exhibition must be picked up at the Museum at the time and dates stated on the exhibition calendar. Artists failing to pick up their entries at the stated time will be subject to a $25 fine payable at pickup. Entries not picked up by October 1, 2011, or not received if sent “postage collect” to the artist will be confiscated by TFAS for disposal. |
Liability |
No entries will be insured against loss or damage while in the Museum or during transit to and from the Museum. The entrant’s digital agreement on the callforentry (CaFÉ) web site indicates that the entrant agrees to hold harmless the Museum and Federation for loss or damage. |
Exhibition Agreement |
The submission of a work of art to this exhibition, along with the artist’s online agreement with www.callforentry.org shall be understood to constitute agreement on the part of the artist with all conditions set forth in this Prospectus. Submission of work
constitutes permission to photograph it for the catalogue, publicity purposes, and documentation for TMA and TFAS’s permanent records. The Museum reserves the right to refuse any entry and to withdraw any work from the exhibition at its discretion. |
